Allen H. Turner -Electrocoating and Electro-curing
Allen H. Turner was born in Detroit, Michigan to Ernest and Mary (Johnson) Turner. Allen served as a 2nd Lieutenant, Tuskegee Airman Fighter Pilot, U.S. Army Air Corps, during World War II from February 5, 1943 to December 21, 1945. He attended the University of Michigan from 1945 to 1950, graduating with a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. He taught Engineering subjects at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama for two years, before being recruited by Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI in 1952. Al worked in the Scientific Laboratory Department and retired in 1981 as a Department Manager. Allen enjoyed a prosperous career and some of his most notable accomplishments were his assistance in the development of two industrial processes, which were used worldwide; Electrocoating and Electro-curing. He was also the inventor and/or co-inventor of 15 patents in these areas.
